Stop firefighting: how to prioritise growth without burning out your team

Most founders don't have a shortage of ideas. They have a shortage of capacity, and a habit of saying yes before checking it.

Start with the goals, not the to-do list

Write down the two or three outcomes that matter most this year. Every new project should clearly move at least one of them. If it doesn't, it waits.

Check people before you commit

Before approving anything, look at who would actually do the work and what else they're already carrying. A great project staffed by an overloaded team is a bad project.

Review honestly, every month

Compare what you expected with what's actually happening. Adjusting early is a sign of good leadership, not failure.
